My luggage didn't make it to my connecting flight. The baggage crew in Phoenix ONLY had 7 hours to put the bags on the plane and it didn't happen. All of the people that were on the Boston flight were told by the Phoenix Customer Service people that the bags would be on the new flight and not to worry.
When we arrived in Los Angeles, none of the luggage of the Boston passengers was there. The lost baggage claim person said that they (Phoenix Customer Service) pulled a fast one on all of us. Normally missed flights had the luggage shuttled at 10:00 AM to Los Angeles from the Phoenix Airport. Since our flight arrived in Los Angeles at 7:30 AM, none of us had any luggage because our luggage wouldn't arrive for another 2 and a half hours. In order for the luggage to get on the new flight, we would have had to claim the luggage and check the luggage back in so it was sure to be placed on the new flight. We were all told by the baggage claim in Los Angeles that the Phoenix crew just didn't want to locate our luggage to have us claim the bags and re-check them onto the new flight. It would have been more work for them and they wanted to get home for the evening.
All of us were assured over and over that our luggage would be there and not to worry. I even specifically asked if I needed to claim my baggage and re-check it. Damn bastards.
At 9:30 that night, a van pulled up in front of my sister's house and delivered my luggage. All of this could have been avoided if the Phoenix crew wasn't in such a hurry to get home. It was 11:00 PM when our flight arrived in Phoenix. As it happened, the Los Angeles crew ended up taking all of the heat for the luggage not being on the plane and had to arrange for all of the luggage being shuttled around the Los Angeles area.
I feel sorry for the people that had connecting flights AFTER Los Angeles and found out that their luggage didn't get to their final destination.
