We held a service at Piper's house on Friday, then we received the death certificates on Saturday which allowed us to begin notifying all of her creditors and the California State Teacher's Retirement System to have them stop her retirement payments. There were many others that we contacted as well.
We received Mom's ashes on Tuesday and we will be burying her cremains tomorrow. There will just be my grandmother, Paige's family, Piper's family, and me at graveside.
I will be flying out on Saturday morning and heading home.
I've tried to write this entry a few times and it keeps coming out clinical. I don't know why I can't seem to include my emotions and feelings into this entry. I wonder if it is a sort of safety mechanism keeping me shielded from the reality of it all.
