People's Veto

I just voted against Question 1 on our Ballot. It asked:
"Do you want to reject the new law that would protect people from discrimination in employment, housing, education, public accommodations and credit based on their sexual orientation?"
Some, not all, of the religious leaders here in Maine believe that this law is a "gateway" to same-sex marriage and have been protesting to get this law vetoed. They are claiming that there has been no discrimination against gays here in Maine and that this law is not needed.

The opposition that wants the law to remain on the books has documented cases of discrimination against gays and believes that the law is just and should remain on the books.

I agree and believe that we (homosexuals) need protection just like any other group of people. I voted NO to the People's Veto to this law.

Computer with an Arrow

Low power

The power keeps dipping here, which is causing my battery backup to kick-in and take over to supply power to my computer. It hasn't gone out tonight, but the constant dropping in the power level has made me decide to just turn off the computers for the rest of the night just to be safe.

If you don't see me online tonight, you'll know why.
