First off, I missed my class this morning. Mom got sick and I spent the morning with her, fetching various things as well as cleaning up. I then spent about an hour or so cleaning the carpet with a wet-vac.… Enough said about that.
It was 11 o'clock before I arrived at the VA to see about my HIV test results. They were/are negative. Not a surprise, but I'm glad nonetheless. This officially closes the door on my rape. It also removes any concerns that existed for Dan and me.
I went over to Bldg. 10 to see Dr. Fik about my allergic reaction to my new medication, Wellbutrin. Due to a communication SNAFU, I waited 2 hours in the waiting room to see him. That's okay, I got to catch up with Maury's "Who's my baby's daddy?" and Jerry Springer's usual knockdown drag-outs. The only time I watch these shows is when I'm held as a captive audience.
When I did get to see Dr. Fik, I filled him in on the fun events and the trip to the ER. He flagged my computerized file with an allergy alert and told me to just hold off until our next scheduled visit before starting on anything new. He wants the steroids to do their job and have my system flush out any remaining Wellbutrin that is in my system.
When I got home, I was exhausted. I took some more pills and got online. I was happy to see Dan and we caught up on the events of the day. It was a good conversation, but too short. I was so sleepy that I needed to lie down and take a nap.
Mom woke me up at 7 PM, so I could fix a bowl of soup for her. I was glad that she woke me up because I needed to take my next installment of pills. This regiment is worse than my normal medication schedule, but I don't mind if it gets rid of this terrible itching. Speaking of which, it is almost time for some more no-more-itch pills. :P
I'm doing a lot better even though the rash area has spread to my crotch. Being that the Wellbutrin is timed-released, it was still feeding into my system all day yesterday. The good news is that I haven't noticed any new irritated areas. Hopefully, it will begin to taper off now and my skin and body can get back to normal.
Right now I'm feeling very relaxed and only mildly itchy. :-) I'm a bit hungry, so I think I'll head to Jack-in-the-Box for a late night snack.
